Communications

UT Health San Antonio’s communications team is responsible for creating and overseeing communication strategies and publications, and assisting in the stewardship of the academic health center’s brand. The communications team shares news about the institution’s missions and achievements with its internal audience of faculty, staff, students and residents, as well as with external audiences including alumni, donors, community leadership and members of the general public.  ​​​​​​​

  • Managing and publishing stories on the academic health center’s news website, Newsroom.
  • Assisting in internal and external newsletter content and dissemination.
  • Managing and curating the intranet homepage.
  • Publishing print and digital magazines.
  • Editing support for institution-wide publications and those geared toward large external audiences, adhering to Associated Press style.
  • Maintaining brand standards through careful curation and maintenance of UT Health San Antonio’s editorial style guide.

Public Relations & Media

UT Health San Antonio’s public and media relations team broadens the institution’s brand awareness by creating positive messages that raise visibility to internal and external audiences. Additionally, the team:

  • Provides guidance for creating and managing integrated public relations strategies and complementary communications plans for the university’s achievements in its education, research, clinical care and community service missions.
  • Garners external publicity through print, online, broadcast/news outlets and academic/journal and trade organizations for the institution’s achievements in its education, research, clinical care and community service mission.
  • Provides crisis communications strategy development and planning.​

Web & Digital

UT Health San Antonio’s web and digital strategy teams are responsible for setting brand standards for the institution’s digital platforms, publishing guidelines to aid in brand alignment and offering support with that alignment to our internal community.
